Kellogg Elementary School, known for its commitment to environmental stewardship, made a big move in sustainability when it became the first school in the district, and one of just a few schools in the US, to transition its cafeteria to reusable utensils in April 2024.

Parents, teachers and administrators who are interested in learning how Kellogg Elementary made this transition are invited to join the Kellogg PTA Sustainability Committee at Mission Refill for an informational presentation and Q&A session on Tuesday, June 4th from 6:00-7:30pm.

During this session you will learn:

  • Why tackling school kitchen waste can make a meaningful difference
  • How to form a productive partnership between dining staff and administration
  • What positions a typical school for success
  • The importance of student engagement
  • How to roll out the program in a fun way for students and staff
  • Which Santa Barbara organizations are available for partnership
  • What we did right and what we would have changed!

Drinks and snacks will be served. We are currently exploring child-care options or entertainment to kiddos.

This event is FREE. Please RSVP by adding a $0 ticket to check out.
